Two Men Charged for Jail Killing of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the incarceration fatality of ex-Lostprophets frontman and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by investigating officers.

Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
